This event showcases innovative designers creating fashion of design textile fabrics and being judged on the runway by noteworthy industry individuals. Benefactors of the charity event have included Working Wardrobes, PSOC, and The Council on Aging. Beverly has been on the committee of this event, or chaired the event for 8 years now.
Boys and Girls Club Gallery
The Boys and Girls Club of San Clemente was a special place for both my children as they were growing up, but for some children, it is their only refuge and option after school, and on weekends. It is their ‘child care’ and even their way to escape the neighborhood gang influence.
When Walmart provided the San Clemente Club with a grant for a reading and study room for the teen students, they needed to complete the décor to provide an atmosphere that would allow the students to take advantage of the equipment, books and tutoring that the grant provided. Design Focus was asked to assist, and through our talent and time, our generous vendor donations, and our marvelous artist Eloise Lowry from A Brush with Life, we were able to create a 'Library Reading Room' and hang out for these teens where they can gather and learn to make the most of their futures.
